Sealants in Atlanta, GA

On your rear teeth (molars), sealants are an excellent approach to prevent tooth decay and cavities. Because they are utilized for chewing and are the hardest to reach and clean, these teeth are the most susceptible to cavities and decay. Molars first appear between the ages of 5-7, and a second set appears between the ages of 11–14. To provide early protection, it is recommended to have a sealant applied when the molars first erupt.

An adhesive is first placed to the teeth in order to install a sealant. The sealant is then applied as a liquid, as if it were being painted directly onto the tooth, over the adhesive. The liquid then solidifies, forming a shield between your teeth and any bacteria, food particles, or plaque. Sealants can be reapplied if necessary and last for around 10 years.
